HOW THE EU IS FUNDING?

Among the sources of income of the EU, we include member’s contributions, import duties for products from non-member countries and fines applied to companies which don’t comply with EU’s rules. The members of the EU agree on the budget and its administration several years before.

The budget of the EU contributes to the development and creation of work. In accordance with the cohesion policy, the budget is used to finance investments which aim is to end with economic differences between states and regions of the EU. Furthermore, it helps rural places to develop.

The budget on the long term establishes the priorities and expenses’ limits on the long term.

 

The European budget is used to develop rural areas, to protect the environment and frontiers, to promote human rights…

The Commission, the Council and the Parliament give their opinion on the quantity and used of the budget, but the Commission is the one in charged of the expenses. Countries of the EU and the Commission are responsible of almost 80% of the budget.
